Stress
Prevention magazine found that 75 % of people questioned would feel happier about their lives if they were less stressed. More and more people are suffering from work related stress, and are even having to be signed of work. Symptoms of stress include sleep problems, stomach problems, skin problems, irritability, and difficulty relaxing. People may have different situations creating stress in their lives, such as difficulties at work, financial worries, a family member being unwell or having too many demands on them.
Therapy may encourage the person to make several different small changes that will add up to reduce the overall stress levels. Regular breaks, being assertive about asking for support, and increasing relaxation and pleasurable activities all help. CBT may also target any unrealistic standards that the person is holding that is adding to the stress.
